Well it was Halloween events all around last weekend - Emma participated in two separate parties, one at her school on Saturday and one parade at the nearby shopping area on Sunday.
Japanese Halloween, like I imagine Halloween in other countries, has its own twists and peculiarities, one of which is the choice of costume. These days it's not uncommon to see princesses and cartoon characters lined up next to the more traditional characters seen at Halloween time.
So for the school party, it was princess time.
For the local parade, it was the more traditional look.
The kids certainly got into it - they all formed a nice neat line and we all did a lap around the shopping area.
We must be getting to know the locals now - we seem to run into all the same people no matter where we go, and even some old friends from Fukuoka (now living in Shiga) came up to Nagoya for the day, and participated in the parade with us (hope you got some shopping done!)
A very good weekend was had by all!
